Hi all.
I am planning to buy an Alpha Eagle 900 helmet and apparently I have a choice between a 903 sv and 901 dv models. The company website does not mention what the difference is between these. Does anyone out there know the difference and if anyone has recently bought one of these helmets, whats your opinion of it? Also, where did you buy it and what did you pay? Thanks.

Well I am lucky enough to get a a helmet given by my Employers, and it is apparently going to be an Eagle Aplha helmet with ANR.

One of my colleagues is wearing one and I held it in my hand they are very light for sure.

I will be able to tell you more in a couple of weeks.

??800 ? Your guys must be getting some kind of unbelieveable deal then. The price we were quoted recently by the factory was at least ??2000+ for the Eagle with ANR!

They are a light helmet and look to have more comfortable liner than the Alpha 200. I had a look at one that another pilot has recently brought, and there was a bit of an issue with the stiching on the neck band coming undone. Maybe something to ask the supplier about.
The Alpha is a good helmet though. I currently wear the Alpha 200 at work, fitted with a dual visor. Very comfortable to wear for extended periods.

Hi guys
I have just ordered the 900 with dual visor, NVG mount and an impedance adaptor for different civil/military intercom systems and I am paying almost $1900, very different from 2500 Euro I was quoted for a lesser spec 900 in Europe. Why the big difference in prices for the same thing? I used to have the 200 series when I worked for another company and I loved it, especially for vertical reference work, a lot quieter than the CGF I also used. Will post a review when I have used it for a while.
Cheers

My Alpha 900 has arrived. Very light and looks the business.

Never having worn a Helmet I am still getting used to it.
Also ANR is amazing.

I will let you know what it feels like a couple of weeks down the road.

I have an Alpha 900 (yellow) with dual visor and ANR and find it fantastic. The ANR is well worth it and the dual visor means that you can have the tint and also the yellow visor which works well in poor light and low vis conditions.

Word of advice though make sure you get the rigid visor gaurd. It looks just like the normal one but is much harder and will not flex, this prevents it from being pushed in and scratching the tinted visor under it. The NVG visor is also rigid but does have the NVG mounting plate in the way if you do not need it.

Flyer, is that the toby i know ???? If it is then maybe we should go to the Isle of Mann to collect that helicopter oh no don't bother it is at Alan Mann!!

Mike.

What's the going rate for the Alpha helmets in the UK? Saw someone instructing in a 22 the other day and he had a helmet on. They must be really light weight. Interestingly the student was not wearing a helmet but it did make me wonder what percentage of student pilots and PPLs use them.

Just looking at the different models, but I can't find any prices on the internet.

O27PMR who is a member on here bought one recently. I get mine frommy employer and I am led to believe they cost something like 800-1000 this is with David Clark ANR. If your A/C hasn't got ANR built in you can buy a little box which plugs into the lead.
