Hi all,

I'm looking at going to Aero Expo 2007 - Wycombe Air Park, but it looks like it's massively weighted toward fixed wing (as it seems are many things in life!).
I'm sure the general love of flying will take me there anyway but I was wondering if anyone went to the 2006 event or knows anything about this year's and had any thoughts / opinions on it's usefulness for rotary minded folk..?

Andy

We went along last year.

To be honest, I wasn't enamoured with it. You are quite correct it seems to be weighted towards planks at the moment. The only Helicopter orientated stands were Patriot and the H.A.B.

No displays to get excited about and the food, as usual was 2nd rate. We’re hoping for a better show this time. We’re going again because my other half fly’s planks and in general, the show needs the support of the aviation community.

Now if you really want to go to a show – it HAS to be Biggin Hill. What a fantastic day out (if the weather holds of course).

Don’t dismiss it out of hand. The organisers are desperately trying to get it off the ground (no pun intended). Wink

hmmm, I was a little disappointed to be honest.
We went on Sunday which was maybe a mistake as it seemed that most people had expended their motivation on the previous days. It’s definitely a retail fayre more than anything else and very much for the planks, unfortunately we couldn’t even find a couple of the heli-companies who were listed on the sponsors list. That was a surprise as one of them is based at Wycombe! Still, maybe Sunday just wasn’t the day…
That said, there were some fine aircraft there and some interesting stands, the weather was good too so all in all not such a bad day out… Wink
