G'day Flyinghigh,

Visit http://www.casa.gov.au/fcl/overbr.htm

Basically it depends on whether you want to convert permanently or temporarily.
For a permanent conversion basically you just need an Australian medical, sit for Flight Rules exam and do a flight test. The CASA fee for your exam is $65. You will also need to pass a language proficiency assessment.
As for flying schools....depends which part of Queensland you are going to...most schools are in the south east corner but there is one in Cairns. I'm not up to speed on what their charges are these days, around $400/hour for flying time I think.

Hope this helps.
