Hey! blme flew the tv copter that filmed the first series I had the privilege of meeting the doctors and pilots and going back to their base to see how and what it is all about.
These people are absolutely amazing and dedicated in everything that they do. And that goes for the ground crew as well. They don't forget about the poor unfortunate souls and the families once down on the ground either. Each sortie is followed up with phone calls to the hospital to check on progress of victims (and their families). I have seen how devastated they are when they have had to deal with a fatality.
Well todays episode fri 30th oct, featured our old MATS (manager air traffic services) at Coventry. Non other than the infamous D.Smilie. He was talking about how the aviation community rallies together and offers all assistance each individual can when a PAN or MAYDAY call is heard.
