Cap't BLME and myself have a new project on the go at the moment. We are trying to trace our ancesters beyond our respective great-grandfathers, one was born in 1864 and the other 1870.

We are particularly interested in doing this because, believe it or not, Cap't BLME's Mum and my Mum both had the same maiden names, even though Cap't BLME's great-grandfather on his mother's side was born in Yorkshire and his mum and aunts, uncles and cousins still live there, and my great-grandfather on my mother's side was born in Braunston, Northamptonshire but lived in London all his adult life!! My mum was born in London but lived in Warwickshire since very young.

All this geneology stuff is very time consuming and frustrating but great when you manage to find family names on the website.

Anybody else interested in tracing their family tree?

I have always toyed with the idea of tracing my family tree. I find it fascinating to be able to find out such information, with the ever expanding internet I'm sure it has become an easier task for anyone to trace their ancestors. Luckily my Fathers??? side of the family have lived pretty local to Warwickshire, so this will hopefully be easier for me. Though my Mothers side of the family are Polish, my Grandparents had immigrated to England due to the war. Perhaps now is a good time for me to start while I still have living relatives to communicate with and find out little bits of information.
