WhirlyGuy and myself are thinking about flying up to Alton Towers for the day. Would anyone like to join us?

For reasons of helicopter availablity, abilty to get time off work and making sure the park is not packed full of children, a Monday would suit us best. Understandably people may have difficulty on a weekday, but we just thought we'd make the offer in case anyone can squeeze a day off work and would like to join in with the fun!

We thought about going along on a Sunday but from experience with theme parks seem to be a little too crowded on weekends.

Open to suggestions, but we're looking at possibly the 18th or 25th September or even 2nd or 9th of October. Don't really want to go much later in the year than that, and I'm not even sure when the park closes for winter.

FWIW, they're open until late October/early November when they normally have a week or so of fireworks to close the season.

FWIW, Sloane's are having a day out there on the 29th Sept... I have it booked as a lesson.

Might be worth PM'ing SloaneJoe and seeing what the score is??

Craig.

Thanks James. I just had a chat with them to try and they confirmed that all of the above dates are currently available for landings. Tried to negotiate the

Hi Craig,

Thanks for the info. Rotorcraig (2 craigs from Sloane ? Laughing )actually mentioned this to me yesterday but it's a bit awkward for WhirlyGuy to get that day off work unfortunately, which is why I thought I'd ask if anybody could make an alternative date for a kind of HeliTorque Alton Towers day.

Yes it's a new policy at Sloanes, they like all customers to call themselves Craig.

Yes, and my real name is .... Craig.

I never was that interesting!

However it is definitely a new policy at Sloane's.... only Craigs may apply. That should solve my machine / instructor availabiltiy problems (or more accurately my work problems!) ... they will all be sat around waiting for Craig to call !!

As I am still (very much) in need of one of those Instructor thingy's I won't be able to make the HeliTorque trip... but maybe next year!

Besides which I may be all "Alton Towered," out by then.

RotorCraig / Bethany: Are you going on the Sloane excursion?

How does Monday 25th September sound for Alton Towers?

Anyone available? Anyone want to drive over if you can't fly, and have some fun on the scary rides?

I'm struggling with Mondays in September.

So I'll join the Sloane trip on 29/9 if they have any R22s free ... otherwise will try to get there some time in October.

No worries! October would be fine too, we're flexible as long as it's a Monday! Laughing

Booked an R22 for Monday 2nd October. If anyone else is interested then call Alton Towers security office on 01538 702146 and they will fax you a landing form. Also, you can drop me a pm if you want to meet up on the day - even if you're driving over! The park opens at 9.30am.
