Folks the VAC are on the road for the All Hallows do on the 28th October - we going to be at SYWELL.
Ok important stuff:

Airfield open from 0900 to sunset. No restriction on movement numbers.

Aircraft of a vintage nature will park on the grass in front of the restaurant. Others by the tower. Marshalling will be by the VAC team.

All Hallows fly-in participants will book in at the VAC Gazebo.

RC
Do Sloanes usually have any 109's outside at the weekends. Wouldn't mind having a look round a new 109 if they have one. Do they mind anyone having a look round

Not usually outside at weekends, unless one is going out / being ground tested.

If you'd seen my landings onto the pad you wouldn't leave any

Hmm, not sure yet. Has to be someone from "stage or screen" so I'll have to give that some thought! Laughing

As we can't make this event we'll try to get across to Sywell some other time to say hello!

Met up with oi_martin at Sywell this morning for a fry up and a cup of tea in the Pilots Mess!

That was after a rather short local flight - by the time my pax had got out of bed the weather was already deteriorating so we knocked it on the head after 30 minutes. Don't think the marshallers will have had a very busy day with the fly in either as poor weather will have put many off Crying or Very sad

But Martin got his A109 fix - a couple went out of Sloanes this morning and we had a look round some others (including the old ambulance G-WNAA in bits) in the hangar.

Good to see you again, Martin!

Craig

Bad weather at an airfield usually means the Vintage Aircraft Club are there.

I believe we amassed about 15 arrivals, one of the planks did several local flights with various passengers on board.

Craig, thanks for meeting up and the coffee and also the look around Sloanes, some sexy A109 powers there. Good to see you too.
Cheers
Martin

15 arrivals, that's better than you expected then - very good!

Some photos of your Vintage Planks have made it onto the Sywell website!
