after spending the whole day thinking about this, decided ide come here and ask for some advice. The CPL(H) course ill be taking will give me 110 hours on top of the hour(almost hours) i have accumulated. Now what im wondering is if i should try and get some flights in here and there before i start training....im aiming for maybe 5-10 weather depending. Are those 5-10 hours worth aiming to get? Or just wait and get them when i start??????

No. Wait until you can use them for something productive - practising circuits/traffic patterns, hovering, nav, etc.

logan,

I'm not sure if it works the same in Calgary as it does here in the US, but the CPL will require PIC (pilot in command) hours which you cannot log until you have at least the PPL. Any other time is simply logged as "dual".

If the CPL course is an "all-inclusive", meaning PPL/CPL combined, then I would also recommend that you wait.

If it is not, then finish the PPL, do some solo to gain experience and confidence, then do the CPL.

AB again your right, went out for a coffee yesterday with a friend who currently flies up in northern Alberta, said any hour accumulated before im PIC are dual hours and are therefore less important.
