I would like to know if there are any American pilots currently working in Australia and the steps it took to get the visa and any conversions of licenses, etc.

If there are any Aussie employers who have employed American pilots before, what could one do to make the process easier for the employer (other than marrying an Aussie and gaining citizenship that way.)

Thanks in advance for the input.

If your a low hour pilot, you are in the same boat as everyone else with regards to finding work, let alone the visa issues. When I worked in Oz the company I worked for employed 2 Brits, a Frenchman, and me(a Kiwi), as well as a bunch of Aussies. They gave anyone who had trained with them a fair oportunity to gain a job with them. The company was www.phs.com.au
You can come to Oz on a training visa and if they want to employ you, they will help you organise the paperwork.

Cheers BigMike Very Happy
