Last week I saw the TV serie "Helicopter Heroes" at BBC One. This is a nice TV serie about air ambulances in the United Kingdom.

For more information have a look at the BBC website:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b0087g39

Does anyone know if this TV serie is available on DVD ?

Hey! blme flew the tv copter that filmed the first series Cool I had the privilege of meeting the doctors and pilots and going back to their base to see how and what it is all about.

These people are absolutely amazing and dedicated in everything that they do. And that goes for the ground crew as well. They don't forget about the poor unfortunate souls and the families once down on the ground either. Each sortie is followed up with phone calls to the hospital to check on progress of victims (and their families). I have seen how devastated they are when they have had to deal with a fatality.

Brings it all home that life is so very precious.

Well todays episode fri 30th oct, featured our old MATS (manager air traffic services) at Coventry. Non other than the infamous D.Smilie. He was talking about how the aviation community rallies together and offers all assistance each individual can when a PAN or MAYDAY call is heard.
