Hello all,

I have decided to go back to aviation after being out of it for more than 10 years. I am an A&P and was pulled away from aviation, and turned my hobby into a career about 10 years ago. I was involved in motorcycle road racing and ended up building and prepping Ducati motorcycles for national level competition. When that ended, I opened a Ducati dealership and continued to do racing, high performance engine and suspension work, and custom bikes.
My wife and I decided to close the motorcycle dealership, and we are almost done doing that. I would really like to go back to aviation, helicopters in particular. My plan is to take as many factory training courses as possible, work at a friends flight school as an A&P for a while, get my commercial pilots license for helicopters, and fixed wing probably too.
I would think I would be fairly employable. I can still continue to take on some motorcycle projects for select customers in my home shop to help pay for the flight training and to keep the lifestyle I am used to.
Another possibility for me is to buy into, or just buy a helicopter (after a bit more experience) and look for contract work (fires, ect..)
Any thoughts or suggestions?
