Aurora delivers first main rotor pylon for CH-53K

On April 26, 2011 Aurora Flight Sciences will celebrate the delivery of the first CH-53K Helicopter Main Rotor Pylon (MRP) structural assembly to Sikorsky Aircraft Corp., a subsidiary of United Technologies Corp.

The CH-53K helicopter will be the world’s premier heavy lift helicopter. The helicopter will provide the US Marine Corps expeditionary forces with heavy lift capability well into the 21st century.

The April 26 delivery is the first of five MRP assemblies to be delivered as part of the CH-53K Helicopter System Development and Demonstration program. The MRP assembly section will be integrated to the CH-53K Helicopter Ground Test Vehicle (GTV) at Sikorsky’s Florida Assembly and Flight Operations (FAFO) facility located in West Palm Beach, Florida.
