Hey all,

Just reading up about turbines at the moment and was trying to find a good animation or something similar on youtube but haven't had any luck.

Anyone found any good turbine resources in their travels?

Cheers,
Greg

Doesn't seem be any helicopter specific turbine animations anywhere, I thought there would be some allison or pt 6 stuff around somewhere.

Oh well.

Unfortunately, you'll have to learn it the hard way. That said, it isn't rocket science, and it's quite easy to get one's head around it.

if you do have any questions - feel free to post them. We'll have you sorted Wink

Yeah they are quite clever things really, lots of power from such a small unit. Think I've got a handle on them now, I just like animations, diagrams, etc to help visualise whats going on. Cheers for the offer, I'm sure I will need a few things clarified as I work my way through the course...

It's not an animation but a good book with an explanation on turbines with some clear diagrams.

You may already have a copy but it's called:

The Helicopter Pilots Manual Volume 2. ( Powerplants, Instruments and Hydraulics)

The author is Norman Bailey and the ISBN number is:978-1-86126-991-1

It retails for 20 here in the UK, probably cheaper on-line,

If you don't have a copy it is a good book to get you started, it certainly helped me and I'm also a diagram type of person.
