Airport Capacity Crisis Debate: A New Airport for the South East?
The South East of England is facing an airport capacity crisis and the decline of its global hub at Heathrow, with wider national economic consequences. Resolving these problems is proving to be an intractable public policy issue. To face down local environmental objections and revisit Heathrow expansion or build a new airport to the east of London? Or none of these, and use existing assets in the region or further afield? Speakers will address the economic, technical and environmental issues shaping what is now an important public debate. The audience will comprise all of the major stakeholders in a decision that is urgently required.
