Hello everyone,

So just moved to the UK last year and starting to fly again. Flying club/school rules not withstanding, what are the rules/procedures/recommendations if one wants to land at a pub or hotel in the UK for lunch etc?

What about landing on private land?

Thanks, -Jason

Pub / hotel - PPR usually the norm, and good practice out of courtesy anyway. (There's also the safety factor of speaking to a local to check on do's & don'ts, areas to avoid, etc). Also useful to check if they charge landing fees!

Private land - ditto the above. I generally also aim to get written / email confirmation of permission too..... Just to cover oneself!!!

No trespassing laws in Scotland, but Farmer Bloggs will probably just shoot you instead.

PPR on all landing sites is the bet way to keep yourself out of trouble.

I inadvertently stumbled across this site the other day... while not strictly on topic (i.e. legality etc) it may nevertheless give you a few suggestions of places to visit.
