JTL.....DON'T BE PUT OFF
When we were there in September whilst I had done loads of confined area landings, I had never landed in a confined site surrounded by such tall trees, it just looks intimidating when you stand on the lawn and look up....I'm sure it's a piece of cake if you stick to all the SSSSSSSSSS

R44 RII with possibly 3 on board, so power should be available.

There is potential for 4 on board for departure... might have to see how that goes. Confused One thing in my favour though - fuel can be light as it's not too far to get back!

And thanks for the "H" map - very helpful!

Where do the X-Wings go, this time?

Took a drive up to Petwood yesterday, to take a look at the landing site.

Actually, it's not that scary - the area in which to land is plenty big enough; it just calls for a steep/vertical approach and departure. i.e. make sure there's plenty of power in hand!

Cool

Have just returned from the Petwood, and what a lovely hotel it is. Would definately recommend it for a Helitorque gathering.

The landing site isn't really that bad - more than enough power available to me both in and out. As you say, heliaviator, from the ground it looks intimidating, but as soon as you're above tree height, one wonders what the problem was!

Lovely day yesterday to fly there - beautiful evening. Just 3 hours late getting away today - drizzle, mist, low cloud, etc.! Sad Still can't be helped - 3 hours in the bar drinking coffee... and doing Suduko puzzles... avoiding work..!

I don't see why not! They've plenty of function rooms and suites.

I don't know what others would think regarding how many helicopters you could fit on to the landing area, but I reckon if we park neatly, we could get three or four in.

Failing that, I beleive the Golf hotel, also in Woodhall Spa, and I don't think very far away, can also accomodate helicopters.
