Hello guys.
Found this forum via another whilst looking for stuff on Helidays. I was there for all three days as part of night security team for the Helicopters. (I'm not a pilot but did manage a trip on Sunday back from the museum.
This year was the 7th I've done and the 8th our group has been involved in. It just seems to get better and better. Very Happy
The BBQ was good and did try to sample most of the different types of drinks available (in moderation as I did have to work over night!!) Wink Nice surprise to see Dirty Harry available in big bottles... (sampled it a couple of years back and pleased to see it again Embarassed )

OAW

P.S. Was anyone here at Turweston for the Grand Prix? I only ask as I was the Heli-marshaller and wondered if I'd unknowingly met anyone on here.

Welcome orange arm waver!!

You weren't the marshall with the stripey face paint were you?! Wink
Or the guy who tried to squeeze us in between two R44s?

Anyway we had a wonderful time! Love to go again next year. Cool

Hi Whirly Girl

No I don't marshall at WSM - they have their own team for that... I just wander around at night making sure no-one hops over the fence and fancies a rotary shaped souvenir or at least a bit of one...

We're now waiting for the next one in 12 months time... Wink

Not wishing to sound like a sales pitch but if you fancy a day with a bit of a difference next year try Abingdon Fayre... I believe the crew of R.44 G-WYSP are planning to go and there should be, operationally permitting, a Puma and a Merlin there too. No landing fee just a donation to the Charity.

Oh well better go back and look interested I suppose... Wink

Just been sent this link on the Friends of the Helicopter Museum site. There are some more pictures of the HeliDays on there, including a couple of our heli flying in!! Not sure who took that one! Thanks to Chris for the link!

P.S. Orange Arm Waver - Abingdon Fayre sounds great! You'll have to post more info on the event in a new thread closer to the time. Smile

Ctawoman and Capt'n BLME - Check your PM's for some info on Abingdon Fayre. A photo of me... I'll see what I have on this PC.... It's the only one I have at the moment... (see left) I'll see if I can get a better one soon. You can understand the name now?

Whirlygirl - I'll certainly post more information for all nearer the time.
