Vulcan XM655 will be performing two taxi runs on Sunday June 18th 2006. A brief low power taxy will take place at 11.30am followed by the high powered run at 2pm.

Also on the day we will have the ever-popular Classic Vehicle show, with around 200 cars and military vehicles.

Air Atlantique, who are based in nearby Coventry, propose to bring 4 aircraft of which two will be on static display - a DC3 and DH Devon. A Dragon Rapide will be offering pleasure flights from Wellesbourne airfield. A Prentice will also be flying on the day. Pleasure flights will operate every hour, on the hour from 9am until 5pm.

We are also pleased to announce that we will have static aircraft from the Army Air Corps Blue Eagles helicopter display team and the Army Classic Flight consisting of Beaver, Auster and Chipmunk. Peter Teichman will also be bringing his P-40 Kittyhawk along for static display.

Various stalls will be on site providing hot and cold food, ice creams,as well as other event related memorabilia. If any organisation is interested in attending please contact Derek Powell on (0121) 777 3518. Thanks SS! I was over there the other day and I didn't even know it was on next weekend! Should have realised, as last year we were flying off to Barnsdale as the Vulcan was doing it's run. Sounds like there is a lot more going on this time. Here are some pics from the little bit of the display we saw last year whilst flying off...

I think we'll pop down on the 18th, but we're most like going to be at the Heli Air part of the airfield or in the cafe, not on the market side. I will try to find out which part of the airfield the static displays are going to be on.

Anyone else coming along?

It's up on the events calendar now too - hopefully this will attract a few more folks! Let's keep our fingers crossed that this the last few days hasn't been the extent of our summer! Laughing

Fantastic. We anticipate arriving (on wheels) between 11 and 12, and will probably be loitering around at Heli Air. Don't know at what time the Vulcun's supposed to be "doing it's thing" but how about we all meet up in the caf
