Dear All

Got back last night at 2145 ish. Train was on time!!

Had a brilliant time despite Saturday probably being the worst day weatherwise.
It was good to meet up with all the gang again.

Dodgems challenge went well, a convincing win for the marshallers I think. The pilots in the second round trying to outwit the marshallers by having a navigator in the car as well as the driver.

Not as much military attendance this year. Most of it on operational duties around the world.
Hope they moved the bug before they moved the Puma.

Looking forward to the next Helitorque get together.

Martin

Hi Martin,

Hmmmm not too sure about the outcome of the Bumper cars, I think the pilots (myself and others) may have a little something to say about that one!!! Very Happy

Great to see yourself and OAW (Gary) and Dave again. Thanks for everything over the weekend. Would be great to get somewhere for the next HT xmas do that is close to you all so that you can come along. We need to make the next one even bigger.

Yes it was a shame about the Military not being able to be there due to their sterling work in other countries but hopefully that won't affect the turn out for next year.

Take care and we will all meet up again soon.

Best wishes,

WhirlyGuy

We had a bit of a disadvantage on the "bumper car" challenge this year, seeing as we were outnumbered somewhat!!! The marshallers even dragged in some of the local youngsters to help out!!!!! But, then, the marshallers were outnumbered last year!!!

I would say that it was a definite "draw" - if not then we gave the marshallers a damn good run for their money!!!! All in all a great evening - as usual!!!

Got back to the BBQ to find that it rained, and rained, and rained!!!!!! Reminiscent of last years weather!!!!! But that didn't stop us having a great time!!

Yes, this year was very quiet on the military presence and there seemed to be more civil aircraft than military visiting this year.

Must say - the marshallers are a great bunch! Very helpful and friendly - here's cheers to them 8) 8)

They are the "unsung" heroes :D :D

Looking forward to seeing you all (or some of you) again soon (Sywell vintage aircraft).

Thanks for all your help

I have returned from helidays (got back to Norfolk at 9PM after leaving Weston at 2:30) and back to work today - My feet are soooooo blistered as to be beyond funny but anyway...

Dogems - We won! Just a couple of points....
A) We won by default - typical pilots say one time and are late... (It is the sam ehere - if this lot actually take off on time it is a miracle!) 10 mins late forfeits the challenge. Very Happy But we still one on the "track"
B) We did not employ the locals they infact challenged us so we not only had to contend with aircrews but locals too and we STILL won.

Thanks for a great time folks. Here's to next time.

I'm afraid I don't agree. Twisted Evil Marshallers Won as two of us weren't even there. Laughing Didn't think I would have been any good with my leg in plaster, and I wouldn't have made it to the pier as my hands were raw.

Re: Dodgems!!!

Us pilots were two down as well y'know!!! (I know - pilots are ALWAYS late  - it's a flying thing  )

Bloomin' TC and 'Dad' didn't help us out this year!!!

But, hey, we still had a damn good time at the dodgems :)

Maybe we can get a few more interested 'bods' for 2007

Thanks helimarshallers for the fun though :D It is all captured on "VIDEO"

CW

PS: We are possibly going to the Heli Championships at Sywell on Sunday - who else is going?

Steady Tiger... Very Happy

We knew that the event would be in safe hands without us. Besides, the Wx was so bad we sat in my machine throughout!

C'mon TC!!!! You know that it wasn't that bad, weatherwise, to walk to the end of the pier!!!! Wasn't even raining then!!!!

Can't accept "sitting in your helo" as an excuse!!!!! Unless, of course, you two were waiting for the BBQ to 'kick-off!!!'

And, then, the weather really did turn seriously bad!!!!!! (Note bene: AFTER THE BBQ STARTED!!!)

Good magic tricks TC, back at The Sunfold bar!!! Even WhirlyGuy was impressed!!!!!

Will you be going to Helichamps on Sunday? We will be going by Triumph Tiger!!

Most people just tried to hide where they could..some how, most of the people there managed to squeeze themselves onto the bus provided for us, which was also packed with food and booze!
