Website wise, I can only find http://www.hcgb.co.uk/

Alas, to look at it requires £55 annual membership. I'd have thought they would have a website for non-members interested.

Anyone here a member want to ask them?

rjc,

There's not much on that website even for members. We're due to attend the championships so if anyone's going we'll see you there!

I believe visiting aircraft are welcome on the Saturday and Sunday. I will let you know if I hear anything else.

Sarah

Had a look at the hotels website. Rather expensive rooms at that place.

The HCGB website members section hasn't really been updated for two years. I can tell you all about the 2006 chamionships if that helps... (Actually, I've probably got photographs - the Sunday was a scorchingly hot day, if I remember correctly. And ISTR, Jenson Button won his first grand prix in Hungary that day...!)

All the detail I have, from the club events list, is, as as follows:

Quote:
The Club’s largest club event of the year will be based at the highly acclaimed Calcot Manor Hotel, near Tetbury. Calcot Manor offers many activities for non participants and has a excellent spa. To encourage first time entrants, a new Novice Class has been created with simplified Navex and tactical briefings. All competing pilots must have a minimum 100hrs PIC. Whatever your experience level this is a very sociable weekend. The room rates for double occupancy are dependant on room size. See the booking form for prices. The Championships will be run under FAI rules. Competitors and judges will arrive on Friday afternoon for a comprehensive briefing. Saturday morning will be the Navex & Timed Arrival. The black tie champage reception & Championships Dinner will be held on Saturday evening at £48pp. On Sunday , the Slalom and Fender events will be held followed by tea and prizegiving. Visiting helicopters will be welcome on Saturday and Sunday.

Are you looking for any information in particular, Mickey? If you're thinking of spectating, generally the Sunday is the better day for that, as that's when the helis are operating close to the venue.

I don't know of any website specifically for the British Helichamps, but the World Helicopter Championships are taking place in Germany in August, and the British team have a useful looking website http://www.britishhelicopterteam.co.uk/ which might be of some use?

(Martin - yes, not cheap is it? I gather dropping in for lunch isn't a cheap experience, either!)
