Please is anyone able to help with a few questions?!
I am off to New Zealand for January & February with the aim of achieving PPL(H), it's taken a lot of saving and dreaming about so I'm very excited!
My dream would be to carry on to CPL in Aus & NZ but one step at a time...
I wondered if it is possible to do any of the theory exams in the UK before I go and if these would count in NZ?
I understand that Air Law is slightly different as are the medicals, but not sure about the others. I am waiting to hear back from the flight school to hear their thoughts on it.
If anyone has any ideas and info it'd be much appreciated!
Yes you can do them but No they won't count for anything.
You could do the exams but unless you are training for a JAA licence they are worthless. They woud be useful really only if you intended converting your NZ licence on return to the UK (if you come back), and you did that within 12 or 18months (can't remember valiity period of a passed exam), you wouldn't need to do them all anyway unless you where after a JAA CPL(H).

..... my instructor certainly has to try a lot harder after 20 hours to scare me than he did in the beginning
See! Your making progress!
But I wonder how much YOU scared the instructor during those hours.
That's how you can tell your doing okay.......When you scare them more than they can scare you.
Believe me....I know. _________________ "A Copter Pilot's Life has it's... ups and downs"
