I would like to wish everyone a happy Burns Night. It's been a busy year for me catching all them Haggis, but I know alot of Scots are grateful. Unfortunately no Haggis in Norway and my dearest didn't post one out to me.

I hope they served them with "neeps and tatties" !

Can't say the Italians don't eat weird stuff like Tripe, but not for me.
I grew up on Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwiches.

Rather have a hot dog (Frankfurter, Wurst, Sausage).

Tut, clapshot is the only real way... Didn't manage a haggis this year but will lift a glass of Ardbeg later in honour of the bards 250th birthday. Smile

Great chieftain o the puddin'-race!
Aboon them a' ye tak your place,

Lol. In my book clapshot is basically just neeps and tatties mashed together with addition of lots of pepper and salt / butter to taste.

Much much nicer than an 'orrible disease! Smile

'orrible disease; perhaps that's what the twa wives had...

There were twa wives, and twa witty wives,
As e'er play'd houghmagandie,
And they coost oot, upon a time,
Out o'er a drink o' brandy;
Up Maggy rose, and forth she goes,
And she leaves auld Mary flytin,
And she f*rted by the byre-en'
For she was gaun a sh*ten.

She f*rted by the byre-en',
She f*rted by the stable;
And thick and nimble were her steps
As fast as she was able;
Till at yon dyke-back the hulrly brak,
But raxin for some dockins,
The beans and peas cam down her thighs,
And she cackit a' her stockins.

He didn't just write posh stuff for Burns' suppers! Very Happy

(Used to be able to do most of Tam O' Shanter from memory but the marbles have gone now. Sad )
