Hi Goughy

Me and blme were at Fairford on Sunday. Got very wet (about four times) but it didn't matter because we had a great day.
We also have some pics. Will download soon.

That's a good pic of the Griffin! What an amazing machine!

Nice shots Goughy, looks like you were a bit further down the runway than me. What camera kit did you use?

Link not working for me either.
What size lens were you using? I use a 450D and Sigma 18-200mm lens. I'm quite happy with mine for a first attempt but think some could be a bit sharper. What kind of settings were you using?

sorry i gave the wrong link.

www.photoboxgallery.com/imgphotography

I was using a canon 55-200mm. It did the job. Based on sunday, what i needed more than the lense wasa bigger umberella, and a step ladder to get over the 100 or so ignorant other people with cameras hogging the space at the front by the runway. I had to stand way back and get my shots, rather than of them landing.

Anyways i think there not to bad, i quite like them.

Goughy,

Nice shots, especially of the Vulcan. I have fond memories of seeing one of its last flights in 1992 at RAF Leuchars before being reited from service.... I was just a wee loon then and thought it was the most amazing thing ever! By far a big influence on me wanting to get airbourne in the future!

A Griffin is a Bell 412 (like what the DHFS use) but there isn't one in the photos above. Confused

I think she probably meant Merlin...
