Another IT related question.

Someting that annoys me in media player, when i load a CD into media player it finds the wrong track listing for a completely different album which doesnt help at all.

Does anyone know why this happens and is there a solution to get the correct track listing displayed.

Many thanks

Martin

If you go to library > more options, then on the library tab at the bottom you should see a section about gathering automatic media information from the internet. Playing with those settings may help you out.

Many CD's don't actually have track names associated with the tracks on the disc, they are just numbered 1 to 20 or whatever. The CD when its burned is burned with the album title and the tracks are burned in the order they should be played. When you plug it into a computer if it doesn't have track names the WMP software connect to the internet and looks up the CD based on the title it has and then generates the information and associates it with the track numbers on your CD. If this information is incorrect or the CD is not being read in the right order it can screw things up.

It's an ID that's used to look up the track list - those IDs aren't always unique...!
