Does anybody know of any info in the public domain that lists search and rescue flights for the uk. I know most of the air ambulance operations "Tweet". The reason I ask is I saw an RAF sea king on Friday, unusal at 300 ft in city centre Manchester. It landed in a park near to the Manchester Royal and Childrens Hospitals. One of only two things I have seen in the air since Thursday the other being an Enstrom. _________________ R22 2.6 h/r wanting more, a hell of a lot more
Major tasking tends to hit the headlines, mainly for the PR.
However, with regards to day-to-day tasking: my understanding is that SAR reports are centrally logged (along with any internal distribution and record keeping)... but I am pretty sure there is no general public access to these records.
It was always something done by the rear crew (typically the winchop) so I'm afraid I can't be more definite.
Both military SAR and the Coastguard have been tasked over the last few days, and indeed some training has been permitted in certain areas.
