What level medical are you having? Sounds pretty in depth! I need to go for my PPL(H) medical and have picked a doctor that will give you an idea of whether you will pass a Class 1 also.
Based on the breathing tests I'd better get to the gym (Not that mine are that bad really) _________________ Training for PPL(H), now at 15 hrs - R22 |

The bit of my medical that surprised me was when the doc did the classic er... 'cough' test. I didn't think they still did that - she was very nice about it though |

It was meant to be a class 2 - but they made a bit of a shambles of it, so I had extra tests done. On the plus side, I got my Class2, and was told I have no problems that would cause me to fail a class 1
It was a very interesting day overall: I find it hard to believe - I'm actually going to be flying soon!

If they did the tests for the Class 1 and you've had to pay for them I would ask for the Class 1 to be issued instead of the Class 2.

If its anything like over here an AME cannot issue an initial class 1 it has to come from the authority. _________________ Gary |

That was actually my thinking behind it as it sounded like it was being done by the 'authority' and it would be a shame to have to go back and redo it if he had already effectively 'passed' the Class 1.

Hi Echo-India,
Sounds like a similar story to me. I started when I was 14 and worked for a local flight school doing the crappy jobs, but I do make a mean cuppa nowadays and my grass cutting skills are top stuff. Hope you enjoy your week and maybe something comes out of it like a weekend/holiday job. If they don't offer anything to you then it is worth asking if they need any help at weekends. I worked in exchange for the odd trip now and then, 11 years later I am sitting on the sofa in another part of the world having just finished an offshore trip for the day.
Keep in there but don't let it get in the way of your school work, which was a mistake I made and now regret having nothing to fall back on if the flying career goes arse about face.
Have fun,
