Maybe...I've never flown one or looked that closely at them but in the picture the ground handling wheels are still attached. I wonder if you move sideways the tyre acts the same as catching the skid against something due to the friction on the ground?

Weather here was pretty good for flying early pm - somewhat windier today though.
