Hi guys

Although not a proper helicopter event I just thought I'd mention this event as I'll be there "working" - well arm waving... I may be doing the helicopters otherwise my other heli-marshaller will be - depends if I'm tied up with a fixed wing at the time.

Helicopters have vitied here before although usually stuck on the "cabbage patch" (check Pooleys etc) but for this event you'll be allowed on the main part of the airfield (sounds patronising... not meant to be sorry) - The "cabbage patch" isn't listed as being part of the airfield and is owned by a relative of the airfield owner and that's how they get away with it.

There will be fixed wing aircraft there and you'll be parked safely away a bit from them.

There will also be old cars, bikes, tractors and the like to see too.

Fuel at TW is only Avgas stuff no Jet-A1 sorry.

Landing fee will apply although can't think what it is off hand apart from ??5 if a VAC member.

Ring to make sure before setting off as we've had problems with planning application at the moment for the event (the hearing del;ayed from the 5th August is due to be 16th September!!!!)

Think the owner will go ahead and handle the fall out afterwards...

Thanks for confirming that date.

Cap't BLME and myself will definitely try and make that, and hopefully fly-in. We are going to a family wedding on the 18th, so no doubt we will be a bit 'delicate' on the 19th!! Confused

When (and if, depending on hangovers) we do come along, we will have to drag Whirlygirl and Whirlyguy along with us as well.

This time, we MUST introduce ourselves to you. You MUST meet the latest PPL(H) - Whirlyguy (and his most brilliant instructor - Cap't BLME!!!)

How do you think we can recognise each other? Cool

TTFN Very Happy

Look forward to the possibility of meeting you all (subject to fragility).

I'll be hard to miss - I'll be the marshaller in an orange High-viz with bright orange fingerless gloves and probably an orange overall too...
I like to blend in!!!

All other marshallers (except my sister) wear yellow high-viz - so that people know who to complain to as we run the marshalling team between us.

We are meeting up with Whirlygirl and Whirlyguy next weekend, so we can discuss the vintage rally day.

Subject to terrific hangovers after the 18 Sept, we will try and make the rally!!

If we did make it to the rally, I am sure you will recognise us! Of course, we can always come over and introduce ourselves. We will go up to each marshaller and ask him if he is you!!

Hope weather will be like it was today - absolutely fantastic!! Perfect flying weather!

What is ??5!!!???? We have 4 grown up children between us, don't you know!!!
So, we don't know what ??5 is - if we had it, they would take it off us!!!

We will have to see how we feel before we can do anything on the 19 Sept.

Giant hangovers are the order of the day on the 18/19 Sept. A family wedding to attend most of the day on Saturday followed by a special birthday elsewhere on the evening of the 18th!!! Our brains are going to be blown apart somewhat!!!
Well, we will see how we feel on the Sunday!!!
If we don't make it, maybe we will meet you at another heli do!

Have a fantastic day on the 18th. You're only young once eh?
I'm sure we will all meet up at some point/event. - If the weather is nice I could well be busy all day (fingers crossed).
Cheers!!

Had a look on the met site this morning to see what the weather is doing for Saturday. High 19 degrees, wall to wall sunshine - same on Sunday!

Myself and Cap't BLME were thinging, hangovers permitting, on going out on the motorbike on Sunday and wondering where to go. We may end up at Turweston. So, we may see you after all.

Have you seen the latest competition on the helitorque site?

A slogan for TC's hangar roof!!

Check it out!
