I treated myself to a Canon EOS 350D a couple of weeks ago - a fantastic camera, giving me some great pictures. It was bundled with a Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 USM Lens, and I bought a Sigma 55-200mm f/4-5.6 DC lens too.

However, I can't help but feel I'm not getting the best out of it, and that the good shots are more luck than judgement!

I'm considering taking a course in photography, to improve my technical knowledge, but I was wondering if the "experts" on here could impart some of their experience to help me out, too! For example, do you reject many frames from a photo-shoot? Presumably composition of images is something that comes from experience - is there anyway to accelerate that experience, or just simply trial and error over time?

Perhaps you know of some excellent literature/books to help us mere beginners?

Any hints and tips gratefully received. Very Happy
