Nope, never been there, but it looks interesting! Does it have a grand piano? I know someone who could entertain us...

Never been, but what a fantastic part of the world to go to!

If you're looking in that general area, the Kitley House Hotel in Yealmpton (mainland!) is very nice - totally isolated on its own estate. I stayed there before I got my PPL, so haven't flown in, but I believe they've got a helipad - and the grounds are quite extensive, so plenty of room for several.

Cool

I have been and can highly reccomend it.

Approach is easy and you could get 2 or 3 machines on the pad easily, more if they are 2 bladed.
Hotel is fab! You have to dress for dinner and it is a real 30's style, no cars, you get there by air or by sea tractor, you need the see the Poiroit film that is based there.

Here is a pic of the landing site, good luck and I wish I was coing with you.

It probably fits the HeliTorque fly-in venue profile :

  • exclusive
  • has a heli-pad
Anything I missed out? Wink

Has a bar Wink

I went last year, some rooms have been refurbished, mine was OK. It does have piano etc + bar as well. Not cheap but worth it, it really is different ver 30's

Here is a pic from pad to hotel, its a bit of a walk, at least 30 yards! They do come and greet you though and even carry bags!

never flown in but it is a really nice hotel!

As a former local to the area there, I can tell you that my dog love's it there!!! Smile

This view is frio the top of the island - looking back towards Bigbury Bay. There is a very small quaint pub also on the island.

Just don't be tempted to park on the sandy causeway between the island and the mainland - the tide comes in awfully quickly!!
