For those that attended Helitech this year thought it might be interesting to see how everyone rated it.

Good to meet everyone at Helitech sorry did not get to the Heliops stand for a coffee as planned but with so many helicopters to photograph time was pressing.

Having been there from Tuesday my general view of the show very good, much better than 2003 and most of the exhibitors I spoke to also felt that they found it worth while. Stand space for 2007 was 1/3 sold by the end of Thursday so Spearhead must be doing something right.

Weather ??? well not much we can do about that as we all know.

Hi Ned

Learn't so much from you at the show and looking forward to working together

Simon et al - Great to meet you all at Helitech and had a great time, very hectic but had a great time. Hope you and Sarah enjoyed the ride in the EC155. by the way ended up shooting another one here in Monaco yesterday. Have uploaded a few pics to my corporate gallery so you can see it. The pics you shot with my camera look great, I think you passed the test Very Happy

Alan - Pleasure to meet you and love some of the pics you posted on the forum here, look forward to seeing more.

Sorry to all those that stopped by and hoped to chat. It was flat out from the first day until the end. Gave away all the copies of the mag we took there and everyone seemed to have liked it so thats a good sign.

Cheers

Ned

Helitech was awesome DB....yes.

Better than the previous one. It felt bigger, with more exhibition space.

Brilliant show, not been to Helitech since it was at Redhill many years ago.

Shame about the high fence around the static display, spoiled some photo opportunities especially the B-17.
Good to see the restored Huey and its fly bys.

Did anyone else try CueSim's MD Explorer simulator.??

Didnt try the sim but heard from a lot of people that did and apparently its awesome. It was busy from start till the end and they said they had at least 6 serious enquiries from people who wanted to buy one, so that means they will be at Helitech again.

The show had some great helos in attendance and in my opinion the atmosphere was much better than the last show.

Did it strike anyone else that there were a few missed business opportunites there?

Despite it probably not being the reason that the show was set up, it is clear that plenty of interested punters from outside the industry attend and it seems such a good opportunity to engage those potential customers that I am surprised more helicopter schools haven't grabbed a stand. Perhaps the price is prohibitive - I'm not sure, but it seems to me as good a marketplace as the London Airshow is and there could be thousands of pounds worth of potential PPL(H) business wandering out the door...

Confused

I think it's more of a "trade show" rather than a public free-for-all like the London Airshow - I suppose it's simply not marketed to get potential PPL(H)s along, more more for folks already in the industry.

I agree, and I guess that's why more training organisations aren't there. If I was running one though, I'd hate to think of all those potential customers (each potential PPL(H) has got to be ??12 000 worth of business these days) there with no one interested in taking their hard-earned' off them Wink

Hi Ned!
I tried to find you in the heli-ops stand but it was impossible Laughing
It was a great show with the 92 and 139 , I had the opportunity to sit in the 139 with the pilot... Shocked what a wonderful machine..
I also flew the sim from Cuesim , not bad but I prefer the Sas flight academy Cae 412/212 full motion sim Twisted Evil
Some pics at http://asermartinez.iespana.es/helitech05/

Hope to see you next time.
