We have our 'almost' final numbers (a few more to confirm) for our Christmas 'do' at Highgate House on 10 December............

Last year I think we had about 26, which was perfect.........this year, so far, we have 24 attendees Smile

Really looking forward to the party night Confused Confused Photos, and possible video footage, of the 'Bash' will follow to entice you all to future events Wink Wink

I dropped into Highgate House this afternoon, on my way back from our Northampton office, and took a couple of pictures. The staff there were extremely helpful, considering I'd dropped in totally unannounced.

The boot shaped field is bordered segmented by electric fences. If you look at Craig's aerial picture, you see the track that bends right on the east of the field, just where it disappears from view behind the trees, the fence runs rom there to the main road. So, the section we are to land in, is south of that fence - i.e. nearer the hotel.

The only wires I could see are in the top left of Craig's photograph - just on the north western edge of the field, they clearly serve the village of Creaton, so I don't perceive them to be a problem.

The slope on the field, as I suggested last time, slopes down west to east from the road to the track. The area immediately next to the road is fairly level.

In terms of size, for those that went to Barnsdale, the field is much larger - possibly twice the size?

Anyway, the pictures, I don't know how useful they might be, but they'll give you an idea of how much you need to practice sloping ground..!

The first two pictures are taken, looking south towards Highgate House, adjacent to the road. In the second picture, you can see the roof of a barn - Highgate House will erect a windsock here for us!

These two pictures are taken looking north.

Hope that's helpful.

For ease of reference, here is Craig's picture too:

Here are a couple of bigger photos of the "boot shaped field".

I've tried to represent what James is saying on the second (can you check & confirm please, James!).

Craig, that looks about right - anywhere in the blue box.

For what it's worth, on the right of your blue box, you've got that little triangle sticking into the perimeter. That's a bit of loose asphalt with a break in the electric fence, leading on to the track, and really the only way to the hotel. Cool

Wozza, I think Craig's adequatly marked the area in which to land - you may place your H or X anyway in that area... ! Wink Rolling Eyes Shocked

I suppose we could get the hotel to bring along one of those trolley things to collect our luggage, but it really isn't that far from the field to the main reception area.

But, if it is piddling down with rain, then we should definitely get the hotel to collect us Smile

Really looking forward to a fantastic night for our HeliTorque 'do'Smile Smile Smile

Well, seeing as I have had a fairly good track record in predicting the weather for our past HeliTorque get-togethers, I had better predict the weather for this weekend Rolling Eyes

Can I let you know tomorrow Wink

Cheers
