I dropped into Highgate House this afternoon, on my way back from our Northampton office, and took a couple of pictures. The staff there were extremely helpful, considering I'd dropped in totally unannounced.
The boot shaped field is bordered segmented by electric fences. If you look at Craig's aerial picture, you see the track that bends right on the east of the field, just where it disappears from view behind the trees, the fence runs rom there to the main road. So, the section we are to land in, is south of that fence - i.e. nearer the hotel.
The only wires I could see are in the top left of Craig's photograph - just on the north western edge of the field, they clearly serve the village of Creaton, so I don't perceive them to be a problem.
The slope on the field, as I suggested last time, slopes down west to east from the road to the track. The area immediately next to the road is fairly level.
In terms of size, for those that went to Barnsdale, the field is much larger - possibly twice the size?
Anyway, the pictures, I don't know how useful they might be, but they'll give you an idea of how much you need to practice sloping ground..!
The first two pictures are taken, looking south towards Highgate House, adjacent to the road. In the second picture, you can see the roof of a barn - Highgate House will erect a windsock here for us!
These two pictures are taken looking north.
Hope that's helpful.
For ease of reference, here is Craig's picture too:
Craig, that looks about right - anywhere in the blue box.
For what it's worth, on the right of your blue box, you've got that little triangle sticking into the perimeter. That's a bit of loose asphalt with a break in the electric fence, leading on to the track, and really the only way to the hotel.
Wozza, I think Craig's adequatly marked the area in which to land - you may place your H or X anyway in that area... ! _________________ J.
