When I did my QXC they were happy for me to park on the big grass triangle in the center of the runways.

Just thought I'd resurrect this thread. How far is this restaurant from the aiport? Is it the one that's on the field or is it further away? When I searched the web I found this address:

Tollerton La, Tollerton, Nottingham, NG12 4GA

Multimap Link

Can't see the airfield on the map though.

Miah's is, umm, about 50 yards from the airfield, I'd guess.

Go to this page http://www.trumanaviation.co.uk/airfield.html - on that page it lists 6. Restaurant. That's Miah's there, that is... Wink

Hi Guys

I've been chatting with Foxy via PM about this, and not having wanted to jump the gun before my FHT I've held back from posting... (passed yesterday BTW - fantastic weather and a day I don't think I'll forget in a hurry)

James, count me in for one on the Day.,... I'll definatley be there for a drink or two, and maybe a snack, but whatever, It'll be great to put faces to names.. Foxy is the only one of you I've actually met..(I've been watching the forum but not posting for a while now)

I'll be in the Central Heli office from about 11:30 onwards and I'll keep an eye out for you guys as you land... (I only live round the corner from Tollerton so will be driving as opposed to flying in....)

See you all on the 19th

Cheers

Sean

I got out today - and flew to Nottingham as promised. Since I also flew back, there are now some pictures in the Gallery under my name (er...). Just three for now but they should be a bit useful as ref points if nothing else - perhaps nothing else.

FAB weather - it will be the same on the 19th otherwise I'm in the car.

FF

(Doggy pics to follow, plus some of my other choices, very few helis I'm afraid but I like to take a camera everywhere I go so these will be a bit different from Heli Galleries!)

Hi James,

The o/h pic (3rd one) where I was directly over the runways, was from 2000' - it was really super! North wind so I was down there in about 20 minutes and 30+ to get home again by which time some cloud was forming. Think I had the best of it - quite a few f/w out at Nottingham.

In that area and from there up towards Humberside aiport, the Trent is magnificent - a huge ribbon of water stretching for miles and miles. You start to remember all you were taught in geography at school about oxbow lakes etc - they are happening right under your nose!

Flying eh - can't beat it.

FF
