I imagine if you did win - you'd hire the biggest poshest best heli to transport it anyway you could and with yer mates on board (sipping mineral water) you wouldn't worry about Cof G's cos you'd hire a Pilot with it.

Whirlygirl, there is no space below the seats to put anything as such except maybe a book but you wont get at it in flight. What you can do is put books and the like in the door pocket. I never had this Problem flying Jetrangers but I would think putting your heavy flight bag in the passengers footwell when the duals are taken out should solve your problem.Or tie said bag to the lefthand seat with the seatbelt well clear of the collective. And once you pick up pax you can put the bag into the boot. You can have weights installed into the nose permantly but this will not help you when you change aircraft. Keep the bag up front secure. This way when you feel peckish because of your pregnancy you can get your food out of said bag. _________________ Regards
Once worked with a very light female pilot, and we just had some small sand bags that she put on the floor of the front pax seat. Simple.
A pack or flight bag strapped in to the front pax seat works just as well. Do helicopter pilots really have Pilot flight bags?
Never heard of attaching ballast weights. Not practical.

i would guess ballast would work for someone who owns their own machine and lets no one else fly it. would always be in CG when by themselves. could be a bit of a problem when fully loaded, and would suggest your sand bags would be the way to go.
We run lead plates in our hueys, as they are really tail heavy, and designed for two pilot ops, and carting heaps of pax, all forward of the mast. without the weights in the nose we are well out of CG with one up.
re the pilot bags, i guess whatever i carry all the important stuff in is my pilot bag. generally full of, CD's, lunch, coke, (cola not cane), sunglasses and my diary.
