Since this got lost in the minutiae of JTL organising Wozza's social calendar Very Happy I thought it deserved its own special thread!

Don't forget the (kind) suggestion of having an MD500 day at Dunkeswell.

I was looking at the 'proper' map yesterday (instead of my AA gazetteer) and it suggests parachuting at Dunkeswell - should be good for some non straight-and-level flying!
First up I think we must ask when we can go, for availability of machines and how many of us will make it. Summertime will give us more flying hours but either we need more rated pilots with us or Mr. H500 is going to be very busy!

Can we have a proposal of a suitable set of dates and following that, a show of hands?

And let us not forget...

I am happy to host a meet at Dunkeswell if a group of you want to come down and take a lesson in a 500 / 300 or a Gazelle come to that. If you get me in a moment of weakness and there are enough of you I will give you a discount.

This could be the moment of weakness!

Smile

What did you think of my suggestion?

Just as an idea for Dunks, how about we look to have the Summer Fly-in in the South West, somewhere; possibly as a long weekend, and we take one of the days to drop in?

Either that or make it the May or June fly-in.

Yup James that sounds good.
I'd thought I'd try to do it on a weekend (before it became a potential fly-in or whatever) when I go to Budleigh to visit my Mum (she says she wants to come too!) and so I wouldn't fly all that way but drive up.

Andy - how much more have you got to do before your PPL? Your avatar looks like you mean business - wonder if H500 has any rocket launchers on his 500s?
An MD 530MD - nice bit of kit.

Does anyone know if there are any heli's based at Dunkeswell.
I'm in that neck of the woods on hols at the end of March and was thinking of popping along to have a look round while Mrs Oi_M is in the health suite of the hotel.

Thanks

Flying Foxy,

Got around 10 -15 hours left, weather has been so bad recently that i haven't got any flying in so far this year!!

Rocket launchers can be attached on request, but fire plastic balls from Argos. hehe.

Would that be Argos Armaments? (Light Military Requirements for the Ordinary Guy in the Air)
From: www.argos-ordnance.com

They keep me supplied with tracer for shooting up planks on cross-country sorties with the Transponder set to Mode OFF..

Just to revive the potential date for 500 flying, I shall be down in Devon across Easter weekend from the Thursday evening. I know a date later in the year (May?) was suggested but I thought since I was trekking south anyway, I'd give a shout to see if that would be anything like convenient?

Useful days, 14th -17th April, Fri - Mon inc.

Please shout out if so - of course, we could always have TWO 500 days!
