I contacted Hackness Grange Country House Hotel, which is situated about 2.5 miles from Scarborough, and enquired about helis landing and parking on their, or maybe a nearby farmer's, property.

They e-mailed back and quoted

CW,

Ask these venues two questions when they quote a price for helicopter parking:

1. What do they offer for this ? 24 hour security, fire cover ?
2. Do they normally charge their guests parking fees if they arrive by car ?

Also send details to Pat Malone who is editor of the HCGB magazine and he will print his so that club members are aware of where not to go Twisted Evil

2 good points Alan! I would have thought that a guest flying in was good for kudos - they're hardly likely to be riff-raff are they? Helis should be encouraged not put off with 'first number I could think of' fees.

Sorry I have been a bit quiet lately (I know, I know!!!! CW quiet!!!! Impossible!!!!)

I have been researching!!! For our Summer fly-in!!!

I have been onto a site:- The Blakeney Hotel, Nr Holt, Norfolk.

They have an indoor pool, mini gym, saunas, games, snooker, billiards, etc.

AllI need to know now is whether they would accept HELIS F.O.C.!!!!

I will get in touch and find out!!!

Back soon!!

Actually, thinking about it, it doesn't make a lot of difference. You'll get there eventually, one way or the other....

Doesn't it depend which way you're flying? Confused

Or even where you started from? Wherever it was, I wouldn't have started there..
