Not trying to take anybody off the map... Far from it, just trying to create a friendly and useful website for everything helicopters. Smile

Lets hope it brings the whole community together.

Nah.

I like to support anything new (particually as it's friends of mine that have set this up) Wink

Doesn't hurt to have a foot in each camp - you never know when you might get kicked off! Laughing

This is a cool site - feels a lot less High Pressure (no Wx pun intended) than PPruNe.

Cool

Learning on a Schweizer 300Cbi - not yet a PPL(H) but it's coming (so's Christmas).

Well I can do the 1st and last... never tried the unicycle though.

But can think of more interesting combinations.... rubbing someonelse's chest (female of course for me!) while flying a helo?

Smile

Foxy, I tend to agree with you! I find PPrune - Rotorheads quite intimidating; but I'm not especially surprised by that. It is after all, a Professional pilot's board - and as a pure amateur at it, I feel somewhat out of place there. Sad

Helitorque seems to me to be a lot less formal, and still young enough to be very friendly!! Very Happy

Long may it last. Cool

Hi JTL,

I often come and sit in the car at Tollerton to yomp my sandwiches! Do you frequent that particular airfield ro are you at EMids? Only on Thursdays as that's my day in Nottm.

One day I'll be flying to it though the most recent fun we've been having is doing VOR to Gamston. Love that bit of kit!

See ya,

FF

Niether - Costock! Although, as that's a private site, most training is done at either Nottingham/Tollerton or Leicester. For the most part of my R22 training, Nottingham was the favoured airfield.

Mind you, I have been known to visit the new Indian restaurant that's opened there...

Thank you for the kind comments. We'd like to try and keep it friendly and helpful - after all the more people we can get into flying helicopters the better - no point scaring them away by being intimidating, or the instructors of tomorrow will be out of work!

Spread the word and keep up your excellent posts. It's great to keep in touch with you all. Smile

Ah yes - I remember seeing Costock mentioned now..I have a couple of customers there too! I could only find one place on the A60 to park where I could watch helos coming and going - not the world's busiest site is it..!

Not really, no! It is a private heliport, afterall!

That said, given the size of the field, it can get a bit chaotic (the organised variety Wink ) at times! Very Happy
