We'll be going along, although we're probably driving there this time as we didn't book a slot to fly in...

We'll have to meet up - are you flying in an R22?

WhirlyGirl - if you get in today you should be able to book in (last day is Wednesday)... Try it you've nowt to loose...

I'll be there arm-waving although mostly fixed wing - I'm second heli marshaller - our groups' main guy used to marshall at the Heli-museum. I'm also chief marshaller for the day.

Thanks OAW, we'll see. We will be there regardless of how we arrive anyhow! How will we recognise you? Are there many of you arm-wavers dressed in orange?!

Our happy bunch will mostly be wearing yellow high viz.
My sister will have an orange jacket as will the "primary" heli-marshaller probably.
I will be the tall fashion challenged one in the orange "boiler-suit" and high-viz jacket. Shocked
If in doubt just ask for Gary and someone will point me out... Very Happy

Ok, I suspect we will probably get there around 11am since the doors open at 10, but we are being quite flexible about it. Are you going Weekend Warrior?

We, being myself, BLME, WGirl & WGuy, have just returned from a fantastic day out at Abingdon Fayre. Smile Smile

Weather brilliant Smile flying machines - magnificent Smile Even though one of the BIG HELOS had a problem with one of the rear landing wheels - it 'dropped off!!!!') and had to abort the display!!!

And, we introduced ourselves to a few more forum members. Rotorcraig flew in - in a R22 (photos to follow) Wink Later in the afternoon, while we were queing up for our hotdogs and a cuppa, we met Orange Arm Waver!!!

So, all in all, a very pleasant trip - glad we made it to Abingdon - highly recommended Smile

Had some good flying to and from Abingdon; arrived before the end of the model display so got held off in the area between Abingdon / Oxford / Brize Zone for 10 minutes which was good fun! Great RT on the way in ... we were really impressed with "Welcome to Abingdon; vacate second right and head for the Chinook" Laughing Laughing

Met up with WhirlyGirl, WhirlyGuy, Catwoman and Blme and spotted Orange Arm Waver in the hot dog queue but didn't manage to speak!

Have never queued up for 1 hour and 20 minutes for a burger and coffee before ... good job that they were nice when we got them, and that we had a good view of the displays from there!

Didn't notice the wheel fall off Shocked ... which heli was that? Enjoyed the Lynx display, but as always thought that the Chinook and Merlin stole the show.

Nice weather and great visibility for the trip back, and fantastic to be able to jump the long line of fixed wings queueing for departure!

Nice to meet you all, still hope to make the Sunday lunch at Barnsdale!

Looks like it was the Chinook that lost a wheel!
