I have just booked to go there for the day on the Saturday. We can't stay overnight due to complications with dog minders but I thought it was about time I went to this one having heard so much about it. Also gives me the opportunity to take G-BYCF for its first long trip.

Camping out could be fun (weather permitting) Wink

I've kipped in the back of the 206 before - never again!

Be assured we'll be looking after the aerial carriages overnight... Cool

Should, I hope, be a cracking do once again... Well we intend on having a good time!!!
Look forawrd to meeting up with folks again. Very Happy Only a few weeks to go...

Please note though air crews who have been on the jolly juice better not try and get over the fence to get back to their machines... Please use the gate - having to help crews back over the fence (and not our side of it at that) after de-tangling parts of their anatomy from the top of the fence gets tedious... Rolling Eyes

Be warned...you really need to book your slot for this year..there are 18 large military helos coming and those who leave it to chance may get diverted to the Heli Museum .Also there is a landing fee to contribute towards the costs of the services..so that the maximum amount can be raised for charity. It's ??10 in advance ..a bit more on the day but all for a good cause.
Some of us have been doing the event now for 14 years since the idea was launched by Elfan ap Rees to help the museum .However the bureacracy and H&S red tape is getting worse so it may not keep going much longer if a new generation of helpers doesn't come forward.Added to this problem is the increased cost of UK military participation...to have a Puma on the ground for three days would have cost nearly ??1500 ,which is why you won't see one this year I'm told.

Well folks, judging by the long range weather for Weston super Mare, it looks like it will be similar to last year's weather at HeliDays. Brrrrrrrr Sad

I am taking my woolly drawers with me this year!! And a pack-a-mac!!

looking at the forecast that could end up being a very wet T-shirt. Big coats could well be required and Sunday looks like being the best day.

Still, I look forward to seeing everyone and hope the BBQ at least stays dry.

Will be busy (hopfully) at the pleasure flyig during the day but plan a visit to the BBQ in the evening and so should spot you there. Just ask the museum staff for the Polo pilot who eats the most and they will point you in my direction, and its not true I don't eat a lot guys come on please!! Rolling Eyes

Shame about the weather at Weston super Mare on Saturday, but, hey, we will be 'donned out' in our suitable gear - caps, jackets, sweatshirts, etc, etc for a typical summer day/evening!!! Sunday weather looks a bit better!

Weather didn't stop us enjoying ourselves last year though.........bbq still went ahead ( & booze supplied by the Italians! which they sold off a little cheaper on Sunday!! hic hic!!)...

Look forward to seeing you there banjo, and other HeliTorque members as well.........

We will have our HeliTorque 'clothing' on......so, as WhirlyGirl says - come over and say 'hi' to us.....(we don't bite - honest!!!)

Can anybody tell me if it is worth going for Friday afternoon only ?
I cannot do the weekend but wondered if there would be much to see/do on Friday or whether that was really just an arrival day.
Thanks
