Absolutely - we have a Christmas bash every year, and the more the merrier! We get the function room sorted and then everyone books their own rooms and pays for their own meals, and then we have a great all-singing all-dancing party! Seems to work really well.

We're keeping an open mind about the venue, but have found out today that the arrow is available on the 2nd December, 16th December and 23rd December (which I think is probably a bit close to Christmas for most people's liking). If you know of other venues you'd like to suggest please do! Like I say we're keeping an open mind, but we've had a few good do's at the Arrow before and it's very friendly towards helicopters.

If you can't make those dates, I guess there's the end of Novemeber, but maybe that is a bit early for a Christmas party. Please let us know what you think, as these places get booked up pretty early over the Christmas season.

Oh, you asked about where the Arrow Mill is:

http://www.arrowmill.com

Coordinates N52 12 17 W001 52 82
Located opposite Ragley Hall...on the A435

Leave M40 at JCT 15 follow the A46 all the way to Alcester and then follow the signs to Ragley Hall......our drive is almost opposite their main gates.

From M42

Junction 3 off M42 and follow signs for A435 towards Evesham. Continue along A435, through Studley. Approximately 5 miles from Studley you will approach roundabout (Blakes Distribution Depot on right). Take 3rd exit towards Evesham. 1 mile along road is Alcester roundabout. Take 3rd exit towards Worcester.
You will then be in Arrow. Continue along road for half mile. Arrow Mill on left - directly opposite Ragley Hall entrance which is well signed with brown tourist signs.

Cool Very Happy

I am definitely interested in joining you, it's always nice to meet new people and make new friends!

9th Dec would be best date for me as I am working the weekends of the 2nd and 16th...

Hopefully I'll see you there

I don't think they're available on the 9th. Maybe we should try a few other venues as this seems to be the most popular date suggested so far. Any ideas? Which part of the country would you be coming from?

It will be good to meet up at the Christmas Bash with new faces from HeliTorque along with out regular crowd.

Seeing as The Arrow isn't available on 9 December (sadly) I will see what I can come with as an alternative venue as well as anybody else's suggestions.

Actually, last year I found a called Rothley Court Hotel, Leicestershire. I will have another look at their site later today.

But if anyone else has a suitable venue(s) in mind, then we would love to hear from you.

Here's cheers to the Christmas Bash!! (hic)

Shame the Arrow isn't available on 9th. Sad Definately worth looking at other possible venues from last year (Hellidon Lakes springs to mind there); but might I suggest Highgate again, too? Smile

And for what it's worth, 2nd December is an equally viable date for Miss Helen and me. Cool

Did we ever look at Fawsley Hall? The name rings a bell but I have never been there. It's near Daventry.

There is also Weston Manor Hotel in Oxfordshire who said that we could probably land a few helicopters in their field. I think it would be worth a visit to a few places before hand though - you can never really tell when talking to these places whether their opinion of a large field is really sufficient!

Any other recommendations?

What a lovely looking place! Just spoke with someone at Fawsley Hall, and they said that their pad can accomodate 2 helis, although if arranged in advance the neighbouring fields would be able to accommodate more.

Rooms are a bit pricey, starting at

Ah. Well, memory like a seive you know! Embarassed

Out of interest, I've just had a long chat with the events manager at Weston Manor. He said they can easily accomdate 8 helicopters as they have a field which is several acres. Also, I've done a bit of ringing around and most people want extortionate amounts of money for function rooms! What Weston Manor have proposed is this:

9th December

I think that sounds favourable. What are the room tarriffs like - can you try to arrange room discounts, too?!? Wink

And I'd be planning to fly...
