It may only be Sept 2006 but Heli Tech 2007 is going to be here very very quickly so why dont we start planning on having a major fly in and get together at HeliTech.

We are going to be having a Hospitality Chalet at this next event so why dont all members of HeliTorque start planning their holidays, leave, time off for good behaviour etc so they can attend.

Let me know what you think and we will try and make it into an awesome event.

Ned

Sounds great Ned!

Oh, and the dates you need all to book off are 2nd-4th October 2007 (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday). See http://www.helitech.co.uk/ for details.

I'll be there!

I always enjoy flying in to Helitech and it was good to say hi to you last year. It's in the diary Smile

Hmm - just looked at registering to go for a day out..I can't see them being too keen on me putting Piano Tuner/Tech for a job description and there is nothing in the 'Employment' section that really fits my job! Private Pilot isn't an option.

Any ideas? What do you guys in IT or farming put when it's not related?

How about Consultancy Services. You could be a Consultant to the Piano tuning business, they are not to know.

Could you not go under the name of the flying school where you did your PPL.

Anyone flying down either from or near North of EGSY to Helitech on the Wednesday? I haven't any bookings for that day at the moment - maybe someone wants a pax for company?

This will be my first Helitech. I am trying to get the time off to attend at least 2 days of the event.

Which 2 days are the best?
How helpful will it be for a wannabe?
As a non flyer (2 hrs schweizer 300 doesn't count I think lol) will there be enough there to fill 2 days?

Tickets arrived last week.

I am hoping to get there on the 3rd.

If not called away on a job, I can ask the ASU for a guided tour of our MD902 - let me know if interested and I can see what I can arrange.

Hi CW - I could stand on the skids - seen it done...
Thanks for the apology! I wonder if anyone else is going from near EGSY? I am planning on going Wednesday if I can get a ticket using Oi's method of being a 'Consultant'. I may well print off a HT banner and wear that too.

What's the score on taking a camera? Is it ok? Pix only for my consumption really.

FF

I am new to this industry but being an IT consultant, I am not new to shows.. Just throw nothing in the Company Name and put down the most innocuous trade available.. Consultant is normally it lol..

The whole registering process was the reason I asked whether it was going to be of interest to me.. It looked like 100% industry trade show. I would just like to look at training materials and ask a few questions/listen to a few conversations.

Maybe see some of you guys up there? I know until I get minimum PPL I am probably classed as spotter but difference is I don't know half as much as most spotters Sad( (I cannot tell as AS350 from and AS355!!) and spotters don't put their houses up for sale to invite insanity comments from friends and family..

Is there a happy place between spotter and qualified pilot? One where we intend to become; not salivate at the thought of meeting, a real live pilot lol?

Scrumpy.

Scrumpy,

I don't think spotter is the right word - wannabe pilot maybe? If you have serious intentions of becoming a pilot then I'd say you are definitely going to the right show. You are a potential new customer to every one of the schools that are exhibiting and the least you will gain from the show is an insight into the industry and some sound advice.

I will be there for the whole show, working with Heli Ops Magazine, if anybody wants to drop in and say hi!

See you all there!

Sarah

My tickets are here also. Thinking of going on the Wednesday, so hope to bump into CW, BLME, Capt. WG (Is W Guy going?), and Ned!

Toying with the idea of Flying - but will probably resist - a low houred pilot flying in and making an arse out of himself I do not want to be!!

See you all on the Wednesday!

RC: Are you going?

Received my pass yesterday, mind you don't remember registering, must have done but been too busy to remember.

Have booked the Wednesday off work, so will see you all there. Looking forward to it already!! Just got to work out the best way from Oxfordshire.
