Being my first one I rather enjoyed it. Will make every effort on making the next one in two years. It was also nice to meet Sarah and Ned. plus a few old friends from my past.

I knew the drinks and food were going to be expensive at the show so I brought my own can of Coke but in the end I did need to since I was given very kindly a free lunch. Laughing Who says there is no such thing as a free lunch.

Well that was an experience.. Big Thanks to Mark (Heli-ops) and Patrick Corr (HAI - Bristows academy) for giving me their time and the benefit of their experience.

It was great to see all of the machines.. Can't say that I learnt much about them (didn't look enough like a prospective buyer I think. lol) but I did enjoy the thought that one day soon, I will get the chance to fly some of them..

I can confirm that WhirlyGirl was on another planet but it must have been a nice planet as she seemed happy enough... Very Happy

Apart from Cabair, Sloane, Bristows Academy and a couple more, there were no educational stalls or bookshops that I could find but on the bright side, that saved me spending a fortune and I have plenty of Mags to read..

Highlight of the day.. Watching a Spitfire flyby and bank, wingtip about 25ft above the ground... I love Heli's but nothing sounds as good as an old war plank... (I think they were trying to remind us it was their field)

To cap it all off, it was a spectacularly beautiful day.. (we haven't had many this year..)

as for the 2.00 a bottle for 300 ml of Coke, etc. makes flying seem cheap!

Considering the many reports of what this 'stuff' does to your health and your innards, (not to mention in this case, your WALLET Shocked ) I'm surprised anyone goes near it anymore and at that price - choose water! I remember in the 1980's meeting a few chaps who worked at the Coke Factory (Wakefield?) and their useful Pub Quiz info was that what they put in the tin costs less than 1p. I don't suppose much has changed, except the profit, since most 330ml tins are nothing less than 50p now and in many cases (not just at HT) more..

FF

I actually brought orange juice (felt like I was getting a better deal!) but the cost cost was the same - water, coke, etc.

Everything costs a fortune over here, particularly at exhibitions!!

Mind you a free lunch turned up at the HeliOps booth yesterday, which was surprising... I thought there was no such thing!

Ned, thanks for everything - hope you guys managed to check out of Fawlty Towers (or was that Farty Towels?) without any more dramas! Wink

Sarah

Well... Photographs... Where are they?!? Wink Cool

It's been a week since Helitech, so perhaps one of the many folks to have attended with a camera could post some lovely pictures of the event, so that those of us that couldn't make it, can be miserable about what we missed..... Exclamation

Thank you. Very Happy

Great photos. The weather looked fabulous.

Shame we couldn't make it this year Sad The only day we could have attended and we were fogged in Rolling Eyes
