I'll be going for sure, from Panshanger, so if anyone wants a ride.....

Very happy to meet the others there too. Not sure about an overnight, but would consider it.

Adam.

Merged from another topic...

Who is going to HeliTech in September?

The HeliTorque team will be there, so it would be good if any forum members who were attending would like to come over and say hi........for a cuppa and a chat.

I'd like to go, so if a day is decided for a HeliTorque get together, then I'll book the time off work...

I am not sure if we are going for the whole three days. Will have a word with the team later and let you know.

Yep, sure are!! Watch this space... those of you coming to Weston-Super-Mare will be able to get a sneak peak (peak - get it?!!) lol!

As for HeliTech, I plan to be attending for all three days, promoting HeliTorque, so I don't mind which day we meet up, however if you could all post your plans and availability maybe we can arrange one of the days to have a bit of a get-together.

Duxford do this for ALL fly-ins and events.

They basically release all the information about arriving and departing, holding, reporting etc, and everything else you need to know.

They ask you when you call to book whether you have read the AIC. If you haven't they won't take the booking, and will ask you to go away and read it.

There are quite a few important notes in there. For example, they have two departure points, east and west, and you have to depart VIA one of them, and stipulate it when you book, so they know how much traffic will be going off in any direction at any time etc.

It all sounds a bit over the top, but they are very good at handling there.

One of the main reasons for all of it is that you can't approach from the North at all, due to stuff there that they don't want you flying over, and other obstacles and restrictions nearby.

One other thing.....they give you something like a 15 minute slot to arrive in.....if you are very late, they WILL turn you away and won't let you in. It may be 30 mins, but I can't remember. So be warned, and plan your route carefully! At the very least, they reserve the right to refuse anyone entry, and the PPR booking is no guarantee. But they do thry their best to accommodate.

I am only booking my Wednesday visit to Helitech because you are going on that day, so if you have to go on another day I will change my day off to suit, okay!
