I know it's a little late but i wanted to tell you all what a great day we had flying to thruxton, karting and then flying to kemble for a fantastic lunch.

We met oi_martin(hello) and his friend Andy at thruxton, who were both really nice blokes and did a spot of photography whilst whirlyguy and girl were blowing the cobwebs away on the track.
Dave, who did all the flying in the 22 with me (he needed the hours in order to start his CPL training on the monday) set the fastest lap time zipping the No 10 kart around like it was on rails.
Thankfully the flying was a lot more graceful, and we were soon wishing well to martin and andy and heading to kemble overhead Lyneham.

Kemble has excellent facilities (including fuel) and the food was fantastic, as was the weather. i also noticed on the climbout on departure an array of aircraft parked up behind the tree line so a revisit for further inspection may be called for.
we routed back to cov overhead wellsbourne and returned with tired eyes and big smiles.

Apparently a couple of the guys saw an assortment of military choppers as we initially routed to thruxton overhead Brize Norton, including an apache.cool

My thanks goes to Sarah (whirlygirl) for arranging this spectacular day, to Dave who did all the flying allowing me my first 'ride' in a 22, and also to the ATControllers who i have to say were very patient despite the same message being said 4 times as we all routed through their zones.

Its a tough life but someones got to do it !

See you there next time

Great pics Andy! Look forward to the next trip...

We're planning to go to Luchon (Pyrenees) on 10th October if anyone's interested.

Full details here...

Now that should be a cool trip!

Sarah

Thanks for the kind words Wink

WhirlyGirl and myself enjoyed designing and coding that one. A really great company with great people and now a great web-site Wink If I do say so myself Smile

As I said before it was great to meet some more people and enjoyed the Karting even though i seemed to be sat on the Kart and not in it. Must go on that diet.

Sorry Whirlyguy, i glanced at the Luchon trip details and thought it said Luncheon trip, what a great idea until I looked again and realised where it was. That would be a long way in my trusty Passat.

Looking forward to our next UK Helitorque get together, plans may be afoot for mid October, more will be revelaed in due course.

Thanks

Martin
