It most certainly is Martin.

Actually, I think the general consensus is that the Arrow Mill is the favourite so far. I wouldn't mind the Christmas 'do' 2007 being there again.

How about we start the thread going as of now Smile Plan the 'PARTY' and possible dates sooner rather than later Dancing Banana #X-mas

Shouldn't promise things like that oi-martin Shocked I have never lived the 'can-can' episode down from the first Christmas Party Shocked

But, saying that, it would be interesting to see you dance like a banana Very Happy

The usual sticking point is dates - any ideas folks? So far ahead, MrsJTL2B and I are free all weekends leading up to Christmas... but that could change...

Hi there JTL

Hope you and Mrs JTL2B are well Smile

We are available on any all weekends for December also - so far Rolling Eyes

How about the usual recommendation of suitable locations and take it from there.

I will do my homework and post some of my findings Smile And hopefully find some sort of central point that our aviation friends, and their nearest and dearest, can come and join in the Christmas fun.

It may be that the majority of folk would want to have the BASH late November.

So, all of you out there, name some possible dates - and if you know of any hotels, or similar, where we can fly in

Cheers

Catwoman

I shall look forward to it wherever it may be!

So Craig will you be demonstrating your flying skills and arriving from above???

I'm free for all Saturdays in December, Fridays are usually a no-no in December.

Depending on machine availability (if Sloane have any left then, as they seem to have a decreasing pool) then why not!

Be rude not to.

So far The Arrow Mill has availability for December. We know the owner very well so if you all agree with this place I can contact him. But, if you have any other place that you would prefer to go to then let us know.

I think we should make a decision over the next couple of weeks about the location, and date, of the Christmas Bash.

What do you think members?

I think we should go for the Arrow Mill ... haven't been there but everyone says it's great and I would like to try it!

Craig I flew in the Sloane Heli Champs today and G-ISMO, G-JERS, G-OSHL, G-KNIB were all flying ... I've not had a SFH request turned down recently so haven't spotted a problem?

Ok, where is everybody from who is thinking of attending the festive gathering?

Personally, I like the Arrow, but I think we might need to consider those who are a little further afield - there might be location that is more centrally suited to those coming from up North, for example. Also, how much parking is available at the Arrow? I've only seen about 2-3 helicopters get in there at one time.

We have just visited the most superb location in the Lake District, maybe not suitable for the Christmas do, but it would be perfect for a summer fly-in, maybe next year. Will post some photos of that shortly on another thread. It was fantastic.

If we can have a vague head count, i.e. just post if you're interested in coming along, with your approximate location and how far you would be willing to travel, and then we can try to choose a suitable venue.

Best wishes,

WhirlyGirl Cool

I was going to suggest Washbourne Court in Lower Slaughter as it's very nice, but then I realised it's even further south than the Arrow. Just a thought, the Von Essen hotels seem to be mostly helicopter friendly and they have quite a lot scattered across the country. Check this out for some ideas...

http://www.vonessenhotels.co.uk/

Of course finding one that accepts several helis as opposed to one at a time might be the challenging factor.

I guess Von Essen hotels is probably part of the same group that owns Von Essen aviation. If thats the case, they shouldn't have any problem taking helicopters.

I've never been to the Arrow but as you said depends on how many helis will be coming.

By the way, that will be one for me by road.
