James, thats great. Sorry I didn't mean to pressure you into going this week.

No no - I had always intended this week or next! As it was a lovely evening last night, I thought I'd go for a drive that way. Didn't realise quite how far it is by road from Hurn! (So much so, I used the Sandbanks ferry to come back instead - watched the sun set over Brownsea Island...)

Do 22 wheels fit on 44's as well??

No. They are considerably larger for the R44.

Ah that sunset over Brownsea Island, I remember a few holidays on the beach at Sandbanks with a can of beer watching the sun setting. Those were the days!!

I remember once going down to Studland, thinking I'll try driving around rather than using the ferry, never did that again in a hurry. It took me most of the morning to do that. Its quite a way down onto the Isle of Purbeck from the A31/A35.

Reminiscing over, back to reality.

If we get an idea on numbers perhaps the room rate may be negotiable for a group.

As for parking, should be alright with a good marshaller, trouble is don't know any!!

BTW, James how is London Control training going??

It's "Medway Control" here, just now - don't get to do London Control for a few more months yet...

You'd think, wouldn't you? No, it's entirely fictional, and loosely based around an area that's sort of Wiltshire ish (and slightly beyond). For example, there is a danger area that you could consider to resemble Sailsbury Plain. An area that could be Boscombe Down. And, I love this one, a parachute danger area called "Easton in the Blue". No prizes for guessing where they got the name from for that. Cool Wink

Anyway, suffice to say, that, for example, EGLL and EGKK are to the east of us, EGGD and EGFF are west, EGTE and EGJJ south west, EGHH and EGHI are to the south, and EGNX, EGBB, EGBE, EGCC are north.

It is, as you would imagine, so designed as to ensure that just about anything we could encounter in the real world, has been encapsulated in just the one sector!

Do we know how many helicopters we can get in? Also a rough head count of who's planning to go? Is it a minimum two night stay, because that might not suit everyone. Perhaps if we get some information from the hotel that would be a good start.
