You can bet it won't be - it's Weston Helidays after all. (And the Jetstream's in the wrong place.)

That said, looking at the long range forecast, there is hope that it mightn't be too bad.

Well, looks like I might be going after all. If any of you are about tomorrow (Friday) between 11am and 2pm I might see you down there.

I have just looked at the weather for Saturday and Sunday at Weston super Mare.

Dare I say it but - IT LOOKS LIKE IT IS GOING TO BE sunny The BBQ won't be quite the same without a little bit of drizzle and gale force winds Dunno

Just had a look at the site James. Wish we were going now Rolling Eyes

One of our PPL(H) chappies at Hawarden has his own Bell 47 (G-XTUN) and he asked blme if he wanted to fly down to W-s-M today but unfortunately we have a whole days flying booked in Rolling Eyes

Oh well - there's always next year's event to look forward to Cool

goughy, you will see LOADS of military helis down there Very Happy There is usually a couple of flying displays going on too, but can't remember if they are on Sat or Sun.

A couple of the marshallers are Helitorque members so just introduce yourself and tell them that you are a Helitorquer too Cool You can't miss oi_martin Shocked He is very tall and stocky. Usually wears BRIGHT ORANGE gloves Confused Nice chap.

If there is a Bell 206 G-SPEY (British racing green, gold stripe) then hang around for the owner because that will be Thomas Coupling (aka Graham) another Helitorquer.

Catwoman

I could be wrong but I think Castle Air bought G-SPEY back a few months ago, last time I saw it was in bits having a respray.

Indeed the all-new G-INFO shows that the register changed to Castle Air on 11th March this year.

Got back tonight from a superb 2008 Helidays, sadly the military presence was very low this year due to operational reasons around the world.

We had a Bell 412 Griffin from the Search and Rescue training unit from RAF VAlley, a German Sea King and the star attraction was a CH53 Jolly Green Giant from the German Army.

The CH53 arrived on Friday afternoon in a large cloud of sand ( note to self, don't wear shorts next time, my legs have been sand blasted)

We had numerous civilian types during the three days .

We were doing the night security but helped out with the stewarding during the day.

There is a lot of hard work goes into making an event such as Helidays a success. Well done Clare and her team for making Helidays, what I thought was a great success.
It is always good to work with a friendly team, crowd stewards, marshallers, air traffic, gate staff, the organisers and of course not forgetting my night security colleagues.

Looking forward to Helidays 2009 already.
