I have done some searching, and am not getting the answer I am looking for. Are there colleges out there that I can get my helo licenses at? I am trying to go full, Private, Commercial, Instrument, Instructor and such.

The reason I ask, is the new GI Bill will pay 4 years full tuition at a State school, plus books and a 1200 a month living payment too. I think this would be a better plan, and less out of pocket for me.

Thank you in advance.

Well, if you be kind enough to tell us what country you live in, it might help.

The US has three or four I know of that have Helicopter curriculum.
Others here in the forum can advise elsewhere.

Jason,

Here are a few you can contact for information to get started.

Many schools offer what is known as "Professional Pilot Track" These are simply schools that offer training from Private through ATP and maybe they add in Long Line, Bucket, Turbine or other similar training as add-ons.

If you are not looking for a degree, then those schools have much to offer. Most really good corporate and industry jobs are held by pilots with degrees. However, there are many openings for good qualified pilots with experience and hours as well.

Keeep in mind that any school operating under Part 141 (VA requires this) will cost a bit more since the school has to follow a specified and approved curriculum, whereas a school under Part 61 has much latitude and is not locked in to having you perform a minimum number of hours before advancing you in training.

Anyway:
Salt Lake Community College
University of North Dakota
Sacramento College of Aeronautics (partnered with Bell)
Colorado Northwestern Community College

These are only a few. If you Google, you will have more than you can handle. Talk to helicopter pilots at your local airfield and ask who they would recommend, where did they train, etc.

Good luck on your search.
