I am having difficulty to load a nice pic of my R44 to my avatar. The 24 kb reduction leaves the image very blurred and cannot be used.
Any idea how to upload the pic to obtain better quality?
Thank you

Well, if the original was clear, then reducing it to 80 x80 pics should not make it blur.

If your image was SMALLER than 80 x 80 and you englarged it, then it will blur.

What you can try is use a photo editor and clear it up, then resize it to 80 x80 (24kb).

Hi Henrik,

I've increased the allowed size to 50k. See whether it comes out any better now. If not, send me a PM and I will try and upload it for you.

Sarah

afterburner, when an image is reduced beyond a certain size, the pixels starts to overlap and "noise" develops with a resultant blurry picture. My pic was taken at 3333kb and holds its picture quality up to about 200kb, but cant cope with fitting all the pixels in such a small size. What you are saying about going larger is also true, because then the pixels are spread over a larger area, also causing a blurred image.

Hendrik,

Oh yes, I understand fully about reducing size. It's the old adage: You can't fit 10 pounds of pixels in a 5 pound bag! (or something close to that). Laughing

WhirlyGirl will get it to work.

Welcome to the heli-crew!
