Hi Everyone

(I'm sorry for posting this msg in the last topic Embarassed )

My name is Paulo, I'm a portuguese CPL(H) and it's my first approach to this forum
I'm currently flying in my country, HEMS Day and Night,on Bell 412EP.
I would like to receive some suggestions to work at the offshore service on the North Sea.
I currently have 1100+ hrs most of all on Twin+MCC, ATPL(H) written and 200 Hrs IFR.( Bell 412 & Bell 430 EFIS, FMS...)
HaggisHunter, I saw(in your avatar) that you are flying at Norway, Norsk I think... (correct me if I'm wrong). I sent my application to Norsk one month ago. Do you know if their selection process is on course?
Every suggestions and opinions you give me will be welcome.
Best regards

Paulo

P.S.: Helitorque, congratulations for this very pleasant and useful site Very Happy

Hello and welcome,

Norsk recruitment event is this week I believe. I don't think they were looking for many pilots, but I have heard rumours that they were only taking on Norwegian speaking pilots.

You have possibly contacted these companies, but incase you haven't these are the North Sea operators I know of:

Norsk Helikopter (Norway)
Bristow Group (UK)
CHC Scotia (UK)
CHC Helikopter Service (Norway)
Bond Offshore Helicopters (UK)
CHC Den Helder (Holland)
HeliHolland (Holland)
DanCopter (Denmark)
Scan Aviation (sea pilot transfer, Norway)

I can't think of any more, but your qualifications are good for North Sea, twin time, IFR, good hours... unless nobody is recruiting I can't see you having many problems. If your english is really good then you should make potential employers aware when sending your CV.

Good luck,

HH

Hi,

Many thanks Haggis.
I don't know anyone flying on North Sea, so it was a very good help Very Happy
Actually I am enjoying the HEMS work and it was very helpful to get twin time and IFR. But I allways felt interested to fly offshore... advanced training programs, best machines in the market, the cockpit team work... I compare it to a top FW airline but with helis, which are my election:D (just my opinion)
I waited till 1000Hrs, but I think this is not the right time to apply since some hiring programs were suspended...
I hope Norwegian isn't a much, because I speak 0% of it. I would purpose myself to do a learning course if necessary....
I'll try to approach the other companies you mentioned, CHC is not hiring bynow Sad
Thanks again for you help and hope we keep talking here!
All suggestions are welcome!

Best regards

Paulo
